JHL and the environment
J. Hvidtved Larsen A/S has long played an active role in the environmental debate both in Denmark and abroad. Problems with blocked and broken sewer lines because of lacking maintenance and inadequate cleaning are well known all over the world. Systematic maintenance using high-quality equipment and thorough training of the operators minimise the risk of polluted oceans and sewers overflowing.
Copenhagen was thus the primary reference, when J. Hvidtved Larsen A/S in the mid 1990’s started cooperating with the local wastewater company in St. Petersburg, Russia. The long-term goal is to clean up the river, Neva and with close to 80 JHL combination units working in St. Petersburg today, this goal seems achievable just as the city is a good example of environmental consciousness being worth the effort.
Inadequate water resources force the authorities in many countries to introduce restrictions on water consumption. The development of the RECycler® is thus a great success because the vehicle’s filter system enables the operator to recycle the jetting water continuously and thus reduce water filling and transport to a minimum.
Fuel consumption and CO² emission are also important focal points for the R&D team at J. Hvidtved Larsen A/S. All vehicles shipped from the factory in Silkeborg fully comply with EU’s environmental and legislative standards. High quality and environmental consciousness are important keywords when describing the company’s values.
